Averill Park-William E. Foster, 79, of Bon Acre Way passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Born and raised in Troy, Bill was the son of the late Harold and Helen Rawlins Foster and husband for 57 years to Charlotte Cole Foster. Bill was a 1955 graduate of Troy High where he was a football, basketball and baseball all-star. He was inducted into the Edward C. Picken Troy High School Hall of Fame. He was a catcher for the Troy Haymakers Baseball Team circa 1956. Bill had resided in the Averill Park area since 1958 and was a communicant of St. Henry's Church and a member of St. Henry's Knights of Columbus. Bill had served in the NY National Guard for four years. Bill was a longtime member of the Sand Lake Republican Club. For a number of years Bill had worked for International Harvester and then had worked for RPI where he was a carpenter, retiring in July 2000. Bill was an avid gardener of not only vegetables but also his flowers, winning an award given by the Town of Sand Lake Garden Club. He was a dedicated Yankees and Giants fan. His most important role was as a family man. His sense of humor and good nature will be missed by his family, as he lived his life as a role model to those around him. Bill was the brother of the late Harold Foster and Sandra Devlin. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Mark W. Foster, Anita (Kevin) Blair, Alison Hug, Alicia (Glen) Suprenant and Chad W. Foster; his grandchildren, Kreg Blair, Darcey (Aaron) Kemp, Matthew Blair, Jason (Erin) Blair, Travis (Marcy) Foster, Shane Foster, Serena Foster, Jessica (Casey) Kelley, Joseph (Tanya) Hug, Jordan Suprenant and Glen (Ashley) Suprenant II; his brothers, James (Rosemarie) and Robert (Joyce) Foster; along with 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bill's family wishes to thank Dr. Gary Bakst for the many years of devoted care given to Bill. Funeral Wednesday 11 a.m. at St. Henry's Church, 39 Old Rte. 66, Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park on Tuesday 4-7 p.m. If desired donations in memory of William E.
