Averill Park- William C. Schrump, 71, of Grand Way died on Friday, July 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness. Born in Sand Lake, Bill was the son of the late William and Rachel Geerholt Schrump and husband of 50 years to Nancy Petropol Schrump. Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and had been a truck driver for over 30 years for Levonian Bros. in Troy until their closing. Bill’s passion in life was firewood. Bill spent most of his life cutting and splitting firewood for himself and his customers. He was a member of the Connecting Point Church in East Greenbush was a Yankee Fan and enjoyed the outdoors.
Bill was the father of the late Vickilee Kenyon and brother of the late Alice Schrump.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son William (Catherine) Schrump of Sand Lake, his daughter Amy M. (Jacob) Vanover of Rural Retreat VA, his sisters Betty Gipson and Joan Cady both of North Carolina, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-7 p.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park on Monday July 10 followed by a Funeral Service at 7 p.m.
An Interment Service will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at the Brookside Cemetery Plank Rd. at Barbersville in Poestenkill.
The family suggest donations in memory of William C. Schrump be made to the Connecting Point Church Building Fund PO Box 5 East Greenbush, NY 12061.
