Cropseyville- Terry J. Goyer, 80, of Blue Factory Road passed away at the home he built on Saturday, April 27, 2024 with his family at his side.
Born in Troy, Terry was the son of the late Paul J. and Jennette Wendell Goyer and the devoted husband of 60 years to Patricia Curtis Goyer. Terry was raised in Poestenkill and was a graduate of Troy High School. Terry retired in 2002 from the Carpenters Union # 291 in Albany after 30 years there.Terry built his home 46 years ago and after his retirement spent winters in Paisley Fla. He had recently sold that Florida property. Terry was a life member of the Mark 20 Fish & Game Club, enjoyed saltwater fishing and deer hunting every fall. He was the go-to guy for the family home carpentry projects and repairs. Terry was a part of the “Old Farts Club” in Florida and looked forward to the biweekly get togethers during the winter.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Lori J. (Baxter) Cook of Auburn, NH, Randall P. (Sandy) Goyer of Poestenkill, David T. (Donna) Goyer of Raymertown, and Dennis J. (Donna) Goyer of Pittstown, his sisters Gail Bentley of Poestenkill, Patricia Charlton of Averill Park, Kathy Goyer of Marshfield, MO, Nancy Kasavicha of Poestenkill, Penny Thompson of Stephentown and Linda Cook of Averill Park, grandfather of Nickole, Katherine, Shannon, Kayla, Erin, David Jr., Audrey, Zachary, Ashlea and Logan, great grandfather of Carson, Bennett, Emma, Madison, Claire, Liam, Rylee, Ashton, Alison and Elliott. Terry was the brother of the late Richard Goyer.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 10-12:30 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park followed by a service at 12:30. Burial will follow the service at the Brookside Cemetery, Barberville.
The family request donations in memory of Terry be made to the Sullivan-Jones VFW Post. 25 Veterans St. Poestenkill, NY 12140.
