Spencer S. Cushing

North Greenbush- Spencer S. Cushing, 52, of Mazoway Ave., Troy, died suddenly on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Samaritan Hospital after being stricken while in Stephentown. Born in Troy, Spencer was the son of Howard and Judith Kazowka Cushing Jr. of Poestenkill and husband of Gloria Hallett Cushing. Spencer was a lifelog resident of the area and was a 1989 graduate of the Averill Park High School. For a number of years Spencer worked at the family heating and cooling business where he was an HVAC tech, most recently Spencer had been working building maintenance at the Rensselaer County Jail. Spencer enjoyed the sports of hunting and fishing and being involved in family events and get togethers.

In addition to his wife and parents, Spencer was the father of the late Linzee Cushing, Harleyanne Richards of Poestenkill, Keri (Dallas) Cranston Kubisch of West Sand Lake, Lindsy (Hunter Henderson) Cranston of Stephentown, brother of Michelle Allison of Glenville, brother-in-law of Brian Hallett of Averill Park and Jake Hallett of Averill Park, grandfather of 5 and also survived by aunts, uncles, a niece, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-6:45 on Friday May 12, 2023 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park with a short prayer service at 6:45

Because of the heroic measures taken by the crew of the Stephentown Ambulance, Spencer’s family is asking donations in his memory be made to the Stephentown Ambulance PO Box 208 Stephentown, NY 121668.
