Sharon L. Forbes

Wynantskill-Surrounded by her loving family, Sharon L. Forbes (Dobert), 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 1st, 2024 at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, NY after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. 

Born in Troy, Sharon was the daughter of Herbert W. and Ann Fryer Dobert and the youngest of 7 children. She was raised in Poestenkill, most recently residing in Wynantskill for a number of years and was a 1986 graduate of Averill Park High School. After graduating, Sharon took a job with New York State Offices, where she worked for over 35 years. Sharon was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many; who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. In the words of her granddaughter, she was referred to as the “bestest, bestest girl in the whole wide world.” Remaining to cherish Sharon’s memory are her children, Amy L. Pivoda, Marissa M. Booth, and Anthony M. Pivoda, her grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Erbe, and Caleb and Gavin Pivoda, as well as her sister Shirley Cunningham and brothers, Herbert Dobert Jr., Daniel Dobert, Lewis Dobert, William Dobert and Dennis Dobert and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved all dearly. Preceding Sharon in death, are her loving parents, and her son Peter W. Pivoda. 

To commemorate her life and to celebrate the love she spread, calling hours will be held in her honor on Tuesday December 10th 2024 from 4:30-7pm at Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
