Rose Martha Wagar

Poestenkill- Rose Martha Wagar, 96, of Fifty-six Road, Petersburgh, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. Born in Berlin and a lifelong resident of the area, Martha was the daughter of the late John and Electa Crandall Denue and the beloved wife of the late Archie A. Wagar. Martha was a retired secretary having worked for the American Cancer Society in Troy for a number of years. She was a longtime member of the Union Gospel Church in East Poestenkill and had served in different offices over the years. She enjoyed Bocce ball, square dancing with the Tamarac Twirlers and she and Archie wintered in Naples Fla. for 25 years prior to his passing.

Survivors include her daughters Shirley Ann Wagar of Seattle, WA, Sonya Marie Thomas of Poestenkill and Barbara Rose Wagar of Watervliet, her sister Mary Vincent of Hoosick, Fall, NY, 6 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren. Martha was the sister of the late William and James Denue.

Funeral 10 am Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Union Gospel Church 1039 Plank Road East Poestenkill followed by burial in the Woodside Cemetery in East Poestenkill

Relatives and friends are invited and may also call 4-7 pm on Friday, September 29 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
