Sand Lake- Regina P. Piekos, 78, of Bauer Road, Averill Park, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness. Born in Albany, Regina was the daughter of the late Jimmie L. and Elizabeth D. Cook Collins and the wife of the late Stanley J. Piekos. Regina was raised in Albany and Poestenkill and was a 1961 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Regina worked as a waitress before joining the staff at HVCC where she was a custodian for a number of years before her retirement. Regina enjoyed bowling many years ago and was a fan of Old Western shows and movies, John Wayne, Sylvester Stallone and Elvis Presley. Regina was the mother of the late David Rafferty and sister of the late Douglas (Joan) Collins. Survivors include her children Kelly Ann Knowles of Sand Lake, Sandra Morgan of Troy, Fred (Tammy) Rafferty of Watervliet, Brian (Jodie) Rafferty of Rensselaer and Tina Guilbault of Troy, her brother Thomas (Nancy) Collins of New Jersey and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-6 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a funeral service at 6 pm.
