Ghent, NY- Phyllis Arvilla Henry, 94, passed away peacefully with loving family on Wednesday,September 4, 2024 at the Ghent Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ghent, NY, after a time of declining health. Born November 3, 1929 in Pittsfield, MA, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Arvilla Gardner Wolcott and wife of the late William T. Henry who died August 19, 2009. Phyllis grew up in West Stephentown and had worked as a hairdresser and at the West Sand Lake School. Her main job in life was that of a homemaker and loving mother. Phyllis enjoyed being with her family and friends, spending time with Bill at their idyllic camp in the Adirondacks, as well as tending her beautiful flower garden. She had previously resided in Etowah, North Carolina, Glens Falls and Brunswick before moving to Ghent in 2021.
Phyllis was the mother of the late Lloyd Schillinger (Gail), Arlene Plunkett (Chuck), stepmother of the late William T. Henry Jr. (Debbie) and David L. Henry and sister of the late Fred (Grace) and Leonard Wolcott (Jill).
Survivors include her three sons, Myles Schillinger (Joan) of Saugerties, NY, Wayne Schillinger (Christina)of Grafton, NY, and Earl Schillinger (Karen) of Rochester, NY, along with 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 11am on October 26 at the West Stephentown Baptist Church, 1672 Route 43, West Stephentown, NY 12168. A time to visit with family and friends around lunch will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Inurnment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
