Eagan of Mechanicville. Judy grew up in Mechanicville and Stillwater, NY where she met her future husband, Anthony Armlin. She attended Stillwater High School. During her high school years, her father John, employed by the US Department of Transportation, was transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina and her family relocated. She graduated from East Mecklenburg high school and then attended Duke University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1961. Following her graduation from Duke, Judy was a chemist at Eastman Chemical in Kingsport, Tennessee briefly, returning to the Capital District and was married to Anthony in Greenwich, NY on June 16, 1962. She continued her career as a chemist at Albany Felt, prior to raising her family. Later in life, she studied and became a medical technologist working for local healthcare providers and the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany prior to her retirement in 2001.
Judy was a resident of Averill Park most of her adult life. She proudly attended and showed her love and support of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and athletic events at the Averill Park schools and community over the past 7 decades. Judy loved classical music and attended plays and musical performances. She was an avid reader, an animal lover - especially her beloved cats and enjoyed doing puzzles and needlepoint. Judy was a lifelong learner whose passion for knowledge extended to research in many areas including her family genealogy. In the early 1990’s Judy volunteered at the Farano Center, the first licensed group home in New York State providing care for young children afflicted with HIV/AIDS.
