Averill Park- Lillian M. Smith, 85, of Orient Ave., died late Friday evening, August 11. 2023 at her residence after a long illness. Born in Glens Falls, Lillian was the daughter of the late William H. and Fredrica Mayo Eggleston and wife of the late Charles W. Smith. Lillian grew up in North Albany and was a graduate of Phillip Schuyler High School class of 1955. For 40 years Lillian worked at CT Corporation in Albany where she had been a secretary and office manager. Lillian and her family moved to Averill Park in 1977 where she was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church. She had formerly belonged to St. Annes in Albany.
Lillian enjoyed Crossword Puzzles, Reading, Dancing and time spent with her family.
Survivors include her daughters Rhonda (late William) Smith and Nichole (Joe) DeFazio both of Averill Park her sister Joan (late Sully) O’Sullivan of Colonie,10 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
Lillian was mother of the late Sheila E. Clark and Charles W. “Chach” Smith Jr. and sister of the late William Eggleston, Richard (Shirley) Eggleston Sr. Gary Curtis (Yvonne) Eggleston and Shirley Flynn.
Relatives and Friends are invited and may call 4-6:30 on Wednesday, August 16 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a funeral service at 6:30
Following cremation, Lillian will be interred with her husband at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
If desired the family suggest donations in memory of Lillian M. Smith may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
