Joseph F. Warren Jr.

West Sand Lake- Joseph F. Warren Jr., 88, of Avon Court, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 24, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Troy, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred Fitzgerald Warren. Joseph married his beloved wife Carol Shelly Warren formerly of Syracuse on August 20, 1960. Together they shared 63 years of marriage. Joe grew up in Averill Park, was a graduate of Catholic High School and obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from SUNY Albany. Joseph started a teaching career in Syracuse and then changed careers and worked for 37 years for Crawford & Company in the in the insurance field. After his retirement he worked an additional 15 years as a consultant for various companies.

Joseph enjoyed sports and spent time instructing interested boys and girls in the areas of Baseball, Softball, golf, cross country running and speed skating. In addition, Joseph and Carol enjoyed reading, attending Symphony Concerts and they both had longtime commitments to various ministries at St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park. Joseph cherished the time he spent with his family and playing golf with friends at Frear Park.

Joe was the father of the late Joseph F. Warren III, Sheila C. Warren and brother of the late James (Jane) and Timothy (Linda) Warren.

Devoted father to his children Shelley (Alan Schmidt), Susan M. (Don Walden), Christopher M. Warren and Karen L. (Thomas Byrne) along with 6 grandchildren.

Funeral 11:30 am on Thursday August 31, 2023 at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered followed by burial in St. Henry’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 10:15 – 11:15 on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Henrys Church prior to the Funeral Mass.
