Averill Park- John Stanley Howarth, 68, of Glen Royal Drive passed away suddenly on Monday, September 4, 2023 at St. Peters Hospital in Albany due to complications from heart surgery. Born in Albany and a life long resident of Burden Lake, Stan was the son of the late John Stanley and Lillian Dominski Howarth and the beloved husband to Lorraine Healing Cardone. Stan was a 1973 graduate of the Averill Park High School and had retired in 2020 from Ryder Truck Rental in Albany where he had worked for 30 years. Stan loved Burden Lake and was an avid fisherman. He always opened his home to strangers to share his love of fishing. He had amazing neighbors and lifelong friends, was loved by everyone and was just simply known as “Stan”. He would do anything for anyone including strangers. Stan would give the “shirt off his back” which also included lake access, a boat, tackle, a trolling motor, and a battery.
Survivors in addition to Lorraine include his stepson Michael (Julie) Cardone of Selkirk grandchildren Colin, Madison and Landen, his sisters Janet Michael of Averill Park, Nancy (Mark) Wilson of East Greenbush his brother Randy (Melody) Howarth of Nassau, his best pug Lacey along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 1-3:30 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake followed by a service at 3:30.
