Averill Park- Helen G. Wright, 95, of Old Rte. 66 died on Monday, September 26, 2016 at her residence after a long illness. A lifelong resident of the area, Helen was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Brown Coons and the wife of 70 years to John J. Wright. Helen was a graduate of the Averill Park High School, was a homemaker and had worked at the former Faith Mills, Behr Manning and Sterling Winthrop at times during her life. Helen was a member of the Sgt. Walter Adams American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary and was a communicant of St. Henrys Church in Averill Park.
Helen was predeceased by an infant daughter, her brothers Harry, Burger and George Coons and her sister Zara Hines.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her son George (Evila) Wright of Averill Park and several devoted nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29 at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park for John J. and Helen Coons Wright. Burial will follow at the Sand Lake Union Cemetery with military honors for John. A reception to follow at the Averill Park Fire House.
