Wynantskill - Gretchen D. Young, 73, of Worthington Terrace passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021. Born in Troy on November 12, 1948, Gretchen was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Betsey Beebe Dingman and the wife of 54 years to Craig G. Young. Gretchen was a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Averill Park Schools and was a 1967 graduate of the Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA. Gretchen worked for MetLife for a number of years where she was an Accounts Payable Associate. Her career turned to being a Clinical Technician for several years at Clinical Services where she enjoyed every aspect of working and communicating within the Public Environment. Gretchen enjoyed time reading, appreciating the beauty of nature around her, movies, vacationing at the Cape and the time she spent with her grandchildren and her life-long 3 best friends. Gretchen will forever hold a special place in the hearts of everyone that knew her. Gretchen was the sister of the late Betsey Eidinoff. Survivors in addition to her husband include her daughters Wendy (Richard Lawson) of East Nassau and Karen Young of Wynantskill, her sister Barbara Carder of Illinois, her grandchildren Seth Parker, Isabella and Jared Maroncelli along with nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-7 pm on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
