West Sand Lake- Fred R. DeCamp Jr., 75, of Brookside Way died on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Freeport, Long Island he was the son of the late Fred R. and Audrey Morrison DeCamp. The DeCamp family moved to the area when Fred was in his teens and he attended the Averill Park Schools. Fred joined the Army and served 1964-1968 when he was honorably discharged. Fred would eventually work 32 years for the Grand Union Company in Waterford until their closing. He finished his working career as a driver for American Glass Distributors retiring in 2009. Fred coached baseball when his children were growing up and he enjoyed camping, horseshoes, music and spending time with his family. Survivors include his children Gregory (Jennifer) DeCamp of Poestenkill, Jeffrey (Cortney) DeCamp of Averill Park, Stephanie DeCamp and Ashley (Adam) McNall of Poestenkill, his sisters Audrey Staples of Utah and Lorraine Secor of Schenectady, his grandchildren Lindsey, Kyla, Riley, Dylan, Lilliana, Eva and Barrett, great grandchildren Emma, A.J. and Kaiden. Fred was brother of the late April Russen. Relatives and friends are invited to call 4:00-630pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a service at 6:30. An Inurnment service will be held 9 a.m. Monday, September 5 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon -Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY. The family request donations in memory of Fred R.
