Kingston- Elsie L. Henderson, 93, of Main Street, a longtime resident of Averill Park, died on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the home of her daughter with her loving family at her side. Born in Beebe ,Vt., Elsie was the daughter of the late Anson and Hannah McGregor Stratton and wife of the late Leon E. Henderson Jr. Prior to her marriage in 1950, Elsie was a teacher and then stayed at home to raise her family. Elsie had resided in Averill Park from 1954 to 2008 when she moved to Kingston to live with her daughter. Elsie was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.in West Sand Lake and was a RPI Hockey fan, a Rangers and Yankees fan and was devoted to her family. Elsie enjoyed baking and cooking.
Elsie was the mother of Valerie Warren of Averill Park and Carol Joan (Gary) Dexter of Kingston and grandmother of Timothy Warren Jr., Robert Henderson (Kelsey) Dexter and “adopted grandmother” of Jason Habernig.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22 at the Salem United Methodist Church Shaver Rd. West Sand Lake.
