Wynantskill- Elizabeth M. Coffey, 90, of St. Judes Apartments died on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Evergreen Commons Nursing Facility after a short illness. Born in Troy, Betty was the daughter of the late Nelson L. and Florence Hollis Hare. Betty was raised in Postenkill and had resided on Rte. 66 for many years. Betty was a LPN at Samaritan Hospital, Community Health Care and had done private duty nursing before retiring in 1994. Betty was a life member with the North Greenbush Ambulance and had served as an EMT and ALS Tech along with serving as a board member. She had also volunteered with the Poestenkill Ambulance and had been a member of the North Greenbush and Poestenkill Seniors. Betty had served as the on staff nurse at Camp Rotary for several years and was a longtime active member of the Poestenkill Church of Disciples.
Betty was the sister of the late Nelson H. Hare and Kenneth E. Hare.
Survivors include her daughters Donna M. (Gary) Callahan of East Nassau, Linda D. (Mark) Gunther and Bonnie S. (Fred) O’Donnell both of Poestenkill, her brother John W. Hare of New Symerna FL. and her sister Susan J. Davidson of Eustis, FL., her grandchildren Karla (Chris) Sullivan, Katie Gunther, Erin and Brendon O’Donnell and her great grandson Nicholas J. Panagopoulos and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park on Friday 4-7 p.m. followed by a service at 7 p.m.
An Interment Service will be held on Saturday 10 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill.
The family suggests donations in memory of Elizabeth Coffey may be made to the North Greenbush Ambulance PO Box 99 Wynantskill, NY 12198 or the Poestenkill Church of Disciples 721 Snyders Corners Rd. Poestenkill, NY 12140.
