Sand Lake- Eleonora M. “Ellie” Momrow, 81, of Momrow Road, died on Friday, June 23, 2017 at her home with her loving family at her side after a long illness. Born in the Bronx, Ellie was the daughter of the late Richard and Eleanore Kaufman Goriup and wife for 57 years to Clarence C. “Mike” Momrow Jr. Ellie grew up in East Nassau and after her marriage moved to Sand Lake. Ellie worked for Rose & Kiernan Insurance and NY State before becoming a full-time homemaker and mom. Ellie enjoyed working with the animals on the family farm and the time spent with her family, camping and her time as a member of the Black River Raiders. Ellie was a long-time member of the Faith Lutheran Church. Ellie was the sister of the late Richard Goriup and Grace Fox.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children Sharon (Donald) Benson of Sand Lake, Diane (Doug Jr.) Dyer of Melrose, Patricia (Darrell) Dutcher of Brainard and Michael (Danielle) Momrow of Ballston Lake, her sister Inez Darmanin of Fla. Along with 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Tuesday, June 27, 10am at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park with burial to follow at the Taborton Cemetery.
Relatives and Friends are invited and may call 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 26, at the funeral Chapel.
The family suggests donations in memory of Eleanora Momrow may be made to the Community Hospice c/o St. Peters Foundation 310 So. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208 www.communityhospice.org.
