Averill Park- Edward M. Crowley, 90, of Crowley Way died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Riverside Nursing Home in Castleton after a long illness. Born and educated in Troy, Ed was the son of the late Charles F. and Margaret M. Murray Crowley, stepson of the late Theresa E. Delehanty Crowley, and husband of the late Nancy Wells Crowley. Ed had resided in Averill Park since 1953 and had been a wholesale supervisor for the Freihofer Company for 28 years. In his later years, Ed had worked for Albany Medical Center in the parking garage as an attendant until his retirement in 2009. Ed had proudly served his country during World War II where he was in the Army Air Force and was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. Ed was a member of the National VFW, the Watervliet Elks and a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. Survivors include his children, E. Daniel Crowley, Christine M."Kitty" Crowley, Kathleen C. Sullivan, William Patrick Crowley, Maureen "Molly" Heffner, Margaret "Meg" Lance, Ann C. Glasser, Timothy R. Crowley, Elizabeth Monticolo and Carrie C. Denham, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial Mass on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry's Church, 39 Old Route 66, Averill Park. Inurnment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
