Brunswick- Douglas R. Hull, 67, of Old Seik Road, died suddenly on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his residence after being stricken. Born in Troy, Doug was the son of the late Orville D. Hull and Janie Bulloch Leonard and the devoted beloved husband of the late Maria Daley Hull. Doug grew up in East Poestenkill working in the family business the Miss Troy Diner and he was a graduate of Troy High School. Doug worked for the Ford Motor Co. while doing his apprenticeship to become an Electrician. Prior to Ford closing Doug started his business Hull’s Electric and worked for NYS Electrical Inspectors. He was still working both jobs at the time of his death. Doug was the Building Inspector for the Town of Pittstown and was a member of the NYS Board of Fire Underwriters. Doug was active in area Mason’s including Apollo-King Solomon’s Lodge # 13 in Troy and the Ancient Temple Lodge # 14 where here was a Past Master, and the Iran Grotto # 14. Doug enjoyed rebuilding classic cars and could be found at area car shows where he proudly earned trophies. Doug and Maria started area Civil War Reenactments. Doug was a big kid at heart and he enjoyed numerous trips to Disney World. Doug was the brother of the late Edward W. Hull Sr.
Survivors include his daughters Mary Beth Fuerst of Clifton Park and Betty Ann Hull of Troy, his brother Keith (Betty) Hull of Poestenkill, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his feline companion Kirby and Maria’s family.
Funeral Service Friday, June 23, 10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by burial at the Brookside Cemetery, Barbersville.
Relatives and Friends are invited and may call 3-7 p.m.at the Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 22.
