Poestenkill- Diane R. Goodermote Famiano, 72, of Snyder Corners Road, Wynantskill, died on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at her residence after a year long illness. Born in Troy, Diane was the daughter of the late George A. and Lena Miller Goodermote and wife of the late Anthony Famiano. Diane grew up in Averill Park and was a 1963 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Diane had resided on Snyder Corners Road for over 44 years and was retired from the NYS Dept. of Tax & Finance in Albany. Diane had retired in 2000 and had worked for the state for over 33 years and at the time of her retirement held the position of Supervisor. Diane was a lifelong member of the Church of the Covenant United Methodist, was a member and Vice President of the Poestenkill Seniors and enjoyed her time with the Plunch group. Diane enjoyed traveling and had visited other countries, had done cruises and vacationed in Cape Cod for a number of years.Survivors include her son Gregory R. (Kim) Hansen of Poestenkill, sister June (Donald) Sharpe of Rochester, brother Paul (Nancy) Goodermote of Fairport, NY, grandson Ross (Jamie) Hansen , greatgrandchildren Kelsey and Brodie Hansen. Diane was stepmother and grandmother to the extended Famiano and Paurowski families.Funeral 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 13 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by burial at the Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill.Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12.The family suggest donations in memory of Diane R.
