Plattsburgh, NY- Clara Leavenworth Radz, 92, of No. Catherine St. a longtime resident of the Averill Park area, died on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh after a short illness. Born in Troy, Clare was the daughter of the late John Henry and Clara Craver Leavenworth and the wife of the late Donald W. Radz. Clare was raised in Averill Park and was a 1948 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Clare worked at RPI, Russell Sage and lastly at Samaritan Hospital where she was a Medical Transcriptionist. Clare along with her husband were interested in Genealogy and spent a great amount of time cataloging the cemeteries of Rensselaer County. Their work is great reference material today for investigating family history. Clare was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Loudonville. After the death of Donald, Clare moved to the Plattsburgh area to be closer to her daughter. Clara was the mother of the late Mark P. Radz and Jeffrey S. Radz, grandmother of the late Victoria M. Hoffman, sister of the late John and Ronald Leavenworth. Survivors include her daughters Linda (Michael) Herring of Plattsburgh and Donna M. Radz of Troy along with 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10-12 noon on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Perry - Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park, NY followed by a funeral service at 12.
