New Smyrna Beach, FL.- Chester M. “Chet” Ayers, 76, a former longtime resident of Hoags Corners, New York passed away on Thursday January 23, 2025 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Albany Chet was the son of the late Calvin C. Ayers Sr. and Augusta B. Martin Ayers and the devoted and beloved husband of Denise M. Hall Ayers. Chet was raised in East Greenbush and was a 1966 graduate of Columbia High School. Chet was a part owner and Service Manager of Northeast Petroleum Technologies in Schenectady for many years, retiring in 2012. He moved to Florida in 2013. Chet was a life member and Past President of the Stephentown Valley Rod & Gun Club and also looked forward to deer hunting season every year.
Chet was the brother of the late Marjorie Bereznak, Lawrence, Floyd and Rose Miller, Calvin F. and Edward Ayers.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Dawn Marie Vyvial, Erik T. Ayers, Justin M. Ayers, Chester M. Ayers Jr., Bryon E. Ayers and Alyssa A. Pavone, a brother Calvin C. Ayers Jr. a sister Joyce Thomas and 9 grandchildren.
Chet’s family wishes to thank the staff on D2 at Albany Medical Center, Dr. Gregory Wu, Dr. Matthew Johnson and Dr. Jason Perlmutter for their compassion and care given to Chet and his family.
