Poestenkill- Catherine F. ”Katy” Anderson, 70, of Dennis Road, died on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. Born in Troy and a lifelong resident of Poestenkill, Katy was the daughter of the late Francis O. “Red” and Althea M. Wilcox Anderson. Katy attended the Averill Park Schools and had worked at Sterling-Winthrop, been a supervisor at the former Visalox in Poestenkill and lastly an operator St. Gobain Corp in Poestenkill from where she retired in 2013. Katy’s family and her grandchildren were her passion in life.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia (Gary) Goodermote of Stephentown, her grandchildren Katherine Goodermote of Stephentown and Gary Goodermote Jr. of Nassau, her brothers and sisters Thomas (Georgeann) Anderson of Wynantskill; Diane Anderson and Timothy (Marcellia) Anderson both of Poestenkill; Frank (Laura) Andeson of Valley Falls; Robin (David) Zimmerman of Averill Park and Sharon (Thomas) Banker of Poestenkill. Katy was predeceased by a sister Rosemary Gervais.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
