North Greenbush- Brenda E. Shoemaker, 70, of Zelenke Drive, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 with family at her side after a long illness. Born in North Adams, MA Brenda was the daughter of the late John S. and Betty Arnold Mattimore and the beloved wife of Ronald Shoemaker. Brenda moved to New York with her father in 1955. Brenda took certification courses at Siena College where she obtainedcertifications as an Insurance Agent. She ran the family business Mattimore Agency in North Greenbush after her father retired. The business was closed in 2018 and Brenda retired. Brenda was a Social Member at the Sullivan Jones VFW Post in Poestenkill and the Veterans of Lansingburgh. Brenda held her children and grandchildren near to her heart and loved being that Nana, having the holidays surrounded by her family and having hidden gift searches. She enjoyed her cruises, Casino trips, the beaches, and watching Golf and old westerns with her husband.
Brenda was the sister of the late Stephen M. Mattimore who tragically lost his life in January 1971.
Survivors include her son Mick Marshall of Averill Park, her daughters Jaclyn Fissette of Averill Park and Ronnie (Dan) Tagliento of Rotterdam, and her grandchildren Kari, Liz, Dominick, Jeff, Kenzie, Amy, Tyler, Evelyn, Serenity and DJ.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-6:30 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 Averill Park, NY followed by a service at 6:30.
Burial will be private at the Brookside Cemetery, Barbersville.
The family requests donations in memory of Brenda be made to the Sand Lake Ambulance PO Box 222 West Sand Lake, NY 12196.
