Sand Lake- Betty Ann Weaver, 87, a former longtime resident of Teal Road, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.
Born in Nyack, NY, Betty was the daughter of the late Frank E. Ecroyd Jr. and Lillian Smith Ecroyd. Betty had resided in Haverstraw, NY before moving to the area in 1968. Betty worked at the former Fleet Bank in Averill Park and was the manager. She had also worked at the financial office of Wal-Mart in Brunswick. Betty was a longtime member of the Church of the Covenant in Averill Park and sang in the choir and was a member of the G.O.O.F.S.
Betty enjoyed summers in Maine and whale watching, traveling to England to visit her cousin, watching Tennis and was a NY Giants fan. Betty loved the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her daughter Joanne (Michael) Mensching of East Greenbush, her son Matthew Weaver of Sand Lake and her grandson Andrew and Braden Mensching.
Betty’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Van Rensselaer Manor A1 Unit for the care given to Betty during her stay.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 1pm on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Church of the Covenant 3055 NY 43 Averill Park, NY.
The family suggest donations in memory of Betty A. Weaver be made to the Church of the Covenant 3055 NY 43 Averill Park, NY 12018 or the Alzheimer’s Association 1003 New Loudon Road Suite 201, Cohoes, NY 12047.
