Wynantskill- Annamae Hebert, 85, of West Sand Lake Road died on Saturday, April 16,2016 at the Community Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born and raised in Sand Lake, Annamae was the daughter of the late William E. and Bertha Suwalski Leavenworth and wife of the late John A. “Jack” Hebert. Annamae was a graduate of the Averill Park High School. Annamae was widowed at a young age and was left to raise her son John alone. Annamae focused her life on this duty and worked for John L. Thompson Drug Co. in Troy for a number of years. She left Thompson and took a job as office manager with the Wustefeld Candy Co. in Green Island and was still working three days a week until she became ill. Annamae was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park where she was a Eucharist Minister; she was a member of the Sand Lake Historical Society and was involved in the Schodack Senior Center. Annamae had a love for animals and her red Cadillac. The major highlight in Annamae’s life was when she became a grandmother for the first time at the age of 80. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her devoted son John M. (Jodi) Hebert of Defreestville, her beloved grandchildren Ari, Bret and Jack, her lifelong friend Angie Halek of Troy and several cousins including Clare Radz and Rich Castle.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park on Friday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterford.
