Averill Park- Ada R. Miller, 100, a longtime resident of Clearview Road died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center. Born on July 18, 1918, Ada was the daughter of the late August W. and Ella Radz Rixen and wife of the late Wesley H. Miller. Ada attended Troy Business School and had worked for JL Thompson Drug and the NYS Education Dept prior to the birth of her son after which she became a full-time homemaker. Ada was a longtime active member of the Church of the Covenant United Methodist in Averill Park. She had been the Sunday School Secretary; a founder and member of the G.O.O.F.S. Ada was a founding member of the Sand Lake Historical Society and a former member of the Sand Lake Seniors. She enjoyed Square Dancing and was a member of the Circle Squares and also enjoyed the many years she and Wes spent in New Smyrna Beach Florida during the winter months. Survivors include her son James W. Miller of Averill Park and daughter in law Rosemary S. Miler of East Greenbush. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16 at the Brookside Cemetery 280 Plank Road Poestenkill. If desired donations in memory of Ada R.
